Beware of Faeries

This was one of those things, where it just hit me like a bolt out of the blue. I was thinking about a sign I told my sister she needed to make instead of a "Beware of Dogs" sign. She just moved into a new place, and I told her she needed to make herself a "Beware of Alligator" sign. Well, one thing let to another, and like my mind usually works, I ended up making up this sign. Well not really, I actually made a different one, but screwed up the finish, so was PLANNING on keeping it for myself, but instead I made a new sign, used the same fairy, and it ends up on eBay, another vision from this warped brain of mine.

The sign is 11 inches long, and 8 1/2 inches high, and the fairy is about 9 inches or so seated on the sign, from the tips of the toes to the top of the hat. Head, and hands are hand sculpted from polymer clay, and the body is needle felted out of icelandic wool. The sign is pine that has been lettered with a woodburning tool, and has been finished in a deep golden oak. The fairy is permanently attached to the sign, and it can be hung on the wall by the wire hanger on the back.
