Marcootz

Sold

True story.....I'm sitting in my studio one afternoon while my husband and son are attending a birthday party out of town. I glance out my back window and see a man unscrewing the screws on the tailight of a truck we have parked out back. He takes it off then snatches the light out by the wires.

He walks next door and puts the tail light in a van, then walks inside the store next to our house. A few minutes later, he walks back out of the store with a second man who goes to the driver side and gets in the van. The first man then strolls back across my yard, and proceeds to tae the second tail light out. I walk out back with my dogs and tell him to stop. He beckons me to the back of the fence, and I refuse, tell him I saw him take the other tail light, and told him to leave the truck alone.

I call the sheriff. A few minutes later, the sheriff's department catches the man in the van down the street at another store, calls me back and tells me to come identify the stolen property. So I go up to the other store, tell the sheriff's deputy that if the man had just ASKED I probably would have given it to him. His reply? "I knocked on the door to ask, but no one answered".

Ummm.....

I was floored by this man's idiocy. I proceeded to come back home, take out my clay, and was inspired to create this version of the "troll" that walked into my back yard in broad daylight and stole something just because there was no one home (presumably) to ask if he could.

Marcootz is approximately 11 inches tall, which would be about right for a 1/12th scale troll. Aren't they about 11 feet tall in real life? I think so anyhow because that's how tall the last troll I encountered was. He would make a nice security troll for your 1:12 scale fairy collection, but be forewarned that he likes to pick up items that he "assumes" are for the taking. He has several of these trophies hung around his neck.

He is entirely hand sculpted from polymer clay, and has alpaca hair (sparse), a chain maille coif, made of hand wrapped and assembled links, and sports a charming leather loin cloth, a club, and an axe. All hand sculpted without the use of molds of any kind.
