Sadunai and Lodi

Sold

Sadunai and Lodie are both Treeans. Sadunai (pronounced sah-doo-nay) is the grandma of Lodie who is a very young 23 years old. Treeans don't mature fully until they reach 100 years of age, so she is still very much a child. Lodie has had a rough day and has played especially hard, which has completely worn her out, and consequently she wore Sadunai out as well. Although She loves her grand daughter deeply, she does tend to take a bit out of her since she is reaching the respectable age of 1500 years.

Sadunai is tucking Lodie into bed, and will follow her shortly into the land of slumber, but she won't hit the hay herself until she is comfortable knowing Lodie is safe and sound. Treeans take pride in their young ones, and are doting parents and grandparents who tend to spoil them more than just a little. Lodie has her trusted teddy tucked neatly under her arm as she drifts off to sleep and her other bear sits on the floor at the end of her bed.

Lodie rests on a rope style bed which is strung with leather cording. The bed is handmade by myself out of redwood and pine, with mortise and tenon joints, and covered in a soft flannel covered mattress and pillow. The bed is dressed with hand sewn cotton sheets, pillow case, and hand sewn and quilted white blanket all made from vintage bed clothes. On the floor is a woven throw rug made from recycled material.

Lodie wears cotton knit, one piece footed pajamas, with a flap in the back. Sadunai wears cotton shirt, skirt, bloomers, and apron, and a 100% virgin wool bodice. Lodie's hair and eyelashes are made from natural blonde color mohair, and Sadunai's hair and eyebrows are made from tussah (also known as vegetarian) silk. Lodie's tussled hair is left unstyled, but Sadunai's hair is in a bun on top of her head with a braid surrounding it.

Heads, hands and feet are sculpted out of polymer clay by hand over a wire armature with soft bodies which allow both of them to be fully poseable. The bodies were hand sewn as were all their clothes and bed accessories.

They both come with a hand fashioned redwood base which makes a nice display piece. It also has two brass rods that hold Sadunai in an upright position. She can stand firmly on her own, but the rods hold her securely to the base. Everything can be removed from the base including the bed and rug if it is so desired.

Sadunai is 10 inches to the top of her bun in a standing position. Lodie, fully extended, is 7 inches from the tips of her toes to the top of her head. The base is approximately 11 inches square and the bed stands 8 1/2 inches tall to the top of the head board posts. The teddy bears are 1 3/4 inches and 1 1/4 inches tall.

As with all of my creations, all work is one of a kind and will never be reproduced, nor was it made with the use of molds of any kind. Not only will Sadunai and Lodie never be reproduced, the furniture and accessories will never be copied. The entire set is completely original and comes completely from my imagination with the exception of the bears. No patterns or plans were used for the wooden pieces.

All items were hand made by myself with the exception of the two bears which were created by my niece Amanda Buchanan who does wonderful work in her own right. The bears are hand sculpted without the use of molds and are one of a kind as well and will never be reproduced.

The Sadunai and Lodie set will come signed and dated and numbered 11 as they are my 11th creation. They will also be accompanied by a signed and dated photo certificate of authenticity. I guarantee that all my work is 100% original pure sculpts and all accessories, unless otherwise specified will be hand made without the use of any plans or patterns, other than what comes specifically from my own making.

This work is considered a set and will not be sold separately or in pieces.
