The dancing tree spirits were inspired by a couple of trees I saw this past summer. They looked as if they were twirling around each other, and the thought of dancers sprung into my mind. These tree spirits are old friends, never tiring of each other's company, and much more apt to spend their days swaying in the breeze together.

These are the smallest I have done to date, at only 9 1/2 inches tall including the base. At first glance they merely look as if they are two trees, but closer inspection shows the two faces, looking at one another. They are hand sculpted from Aves Apoxie Sculpt and their faces are polymer clay.

One tree spirit sports rose quartz gemstone leaves, and the other has amethyst gemstones for hers. The base is covered in spice "dirt" and various mosses. The wooden base is finished in a high gloss mahogany stain.
