I was deeply touched by the passing of
Pope John Paul II. I'm not extremely religious,
and I'm certainly not Catholic, but I do
feel that the world lost a very good man
the day he died.
I was also deeply touched by the outpouring
of grief from around the world, from those
of all relgious backgrounds, not just Roman
Catholics. He did so much in his lifetime
to bring people together of all faiths,
and it showed as the world mourned.
This tree spirit is a weeping willow. He
is holding a rosary made of bone and black
onyx beads, and the cross is hand carved
by myself out of copal amber. The rosary
may be removed and any momento of a lost
loved one may be added in it's place. He
can also hold smaller figures in his hands
as well.
He is sculpted entirely by hand without
the use of molds. His face is polymer clay
and the rest of the tree is sculpted out
of apoxy sculpt. He has African Jade bead
leaves, and has his roots in "water"
which is cast from resin. His base is adorned
with mosses, and has spice "dirt".
He is "weeping" tears of acrylic
glaze.
